More of our portfolio:
1. Planning and Design: Laying the Foundation for Excellence
The construction process began with extensive site analysis and planning. Ubud’s unique landscape and cultural heritage were key factors in our design approach. Our architects and engineers worked closely with local experts to ensure that the villas would blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings while respecting Bali’s traditional design elements.
- Site Survey and Environmental Considerations: The first step involved a comprehensive survey of the site, taking into account the topography, soil quality, and climate conditions. This allowed us to determine the optimal layout for the villas, ensuring that each property enjoyed scenic views and maintained privacy.
- Design and Approvals: The design phase was a collaborative effort, with our team ensuring that the villas incorporated modern living features while honoring the aesthetic and cultural beauty of Ubud. We also worked closely with local authorities to ensure compliance with zoning and environmental regulations.
2. Foundation: Solid Ground for Long-Term Stability
The foundation of any structure is crucial for its durability, and we approached this stage with precision. Given the tropical environment and the varied terrain in Ubud, a robust and adaptable foundation was essential.
- Soil Testing and Preparation: Extensive soil testing was conducted to assess its load-bearing capacity, ensuring that the foundation could support the weight of the villas in the long term. The testing helped us determine the most suitable foundation type for the site.
- Deep Foundation Systems: Based on the results, we employed a deep foundation system consisting of reinforced concrete piles. This technique provided superior support in areas with weaker soil, ensuring that each villa would be stable and resistant to shifting or settling over time.
- Concrete Slab: Once the piles were installed, we poured reinforced concrete slabs for each villa, creating a solid base for the structure above.
3. Structure: Building the Framework for Luxury Living
With the foundation securely in place, we moved forward with the structural phase. The design called for a blend of traditional Balinese architecture with modern construction methods, ensuring both strength and aesthetic appeal.
- Steel Reinforced Concrete Frames: The primary structure was constructed using steel-reinforced concrete for its strength and flexibility. This allowed us to create open-plan living spaces with large windows, ensuring natural light and ventilation while maintaining the villas’ structural integrity.
- Timber and Stone Elements: Incorporating local materials such as sustainably sourced timber and stone, we created the signature Balinese aesthetic. The use of these materials not only adds character to the villas but also ensures they blend harmoniously with the natural surroundings.
- Roof Construction: The roofs were designed using traditional alang-alang (thatched) roofing techniques, known for their insulating properties and aesthetic appeal. The roofs were built on reinforced steel frameworks, ensuring they were both sturdy and resistant to the elements.
4. Finishes: Attention to Detail in Every Corner
With the structure complete, we turned our attention to the interior and exterior finishes, ensuring that every aspect of the villas met the highest standards of quality.
- Exterior Finishes: The exterior walls were finished with a combination of smooth plaster and natural stone cladding, offering a sleek, contemporary look while retaining the warmth and texture of traditional Balinese materials.
- Interior Finishes: The interiors feature high-quality flooring materials, including polished stone and locally sourced timber. The walls were painted with eco-friendly, low-VOC paints to promote a healthy indoor environment. In the bathrooms, we used high-end ceramics and fixtures, creating a luxurious and serene retreat for residents.
- Landscaping and Outdoor Spaces: The landscaping was designed to complement the villas and the natural environment. Each villa features private garden spaces, with lush tropical plants and water features that create a sense of peace and tranquility. Pathways were carefully integrated to ensure easy access to communal spaces while maintaining privacy for each villa.
5. Interior: Crafting Comfortable, Modern Living Spaces
The interior of each villa was designed with modern comforts and Balinese charm in mind. The layout focuses on maximizing natural light, ventilation, and open space.
- Open-Plan Layouts: The villas feature expansive open-plan living areas, seamlessly integrating living, dining, and kitchen spaces. High ceilings and large windows create a bright, airy atmosphere that allows residents to enjoy the surrounding views.
- Custom-Made Furnishings: We worked with local artisans to craft custom-made furniture and fittings that reflect the elegance and simplicity of Balinese design while offering the highest levels of comfort and functionality.
- Smart Home Technology: Each villa is equipped with the latest smart home technology, including energy-efficient lighting, climate control systems, and security features, ensuring a modern and convenient lifestyle for our residents.
6. Infrastructure: Ensuring a Seamless, Comfortable Living Experience
To support the villas and enhance the living experience, we invested heavily in high-quality infrastructure, ensuring that everything from utilities to transportation was carefully planned.
- Water Management: We implemented advanced water management systems, including rainwater harvesting and water filtration, to ensure a sustainable supply of clean water throughout the complex.
- Electrical and Communication Systems: The electrical and communication systems were installed with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, and modern connectivity, including high-speed internet and cable TV, ensuring residents stay connected in this tropical paradise.
- Roads and Pathways: Smooth, paved roads and well-lit pathways were constructed for easy access throughout the community. We ensured that transportation within the complex was seamless, with dedicated parking spaces and access routes for residents and visitors alike.
- Waste Management: A sustainable waste management system was put in place, with provisions for waste separation and recycling, ensuring that the complex adheres to eco-friendly principles.
